About Ras Al Khaimah

Ras al-Khaimah, formerly known as Julfar, is one of the emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in the southwest of the Persian Gulf. It covers the area of 5,800 sq km and a population of 250,000. The emirate is under the ruling of Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, and his forth son, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi was appointed as the crown prince in 2003.
